Winter Sauna Sessions at The Barn on The Bay

Over the winter months, Sauna Hetta is based on the covered verandah at The Barn on The Bay, offering a calm and cosy space to enjoy the heat while still feeling close to the elements. Our wood-fired sauna provides the perfect escape on crisp coastal days, whether you're joining others in a communal session or booking the whole space for yourselves.

Guests are welcome to arrive up to 30 minutes before their session to park and take a refreshing dip at the nearby beach. Many people choose to start their visit with a sea swim before stepping into the warmth of the sauna. For those who prefer to cool off closer to home, we also have cold plunge baths on the verandah, sheltered and ready for use throughout your session.

December Festive Fire Sessions - £45 per person - 2 Hours

Enjoy our extended communal sessions with two hours of access to the sauna, cold plunge baths and Calico Barn. Free hot drinks and snacks are included, with time to relax by the fire pit, toast marshmallows or gather by the fire inside the barn. A bar is available for post-sauna drinks (not included), and guests are also invited to try our new Sauna & Spa Ritual free of charge ahead of its full launch in January.

Regular Sauna Sessions - December to April

Our regular sauna sessions are a similar format to our summer sessions. Based outside but with cover available on the verandah, you can join a communal sauna or book a private session for up to 6 people. There is access to toilets and changing facilities but no indoor space so guests are advised to wrap up and bring a hot drink.

Communal Sauna Sessions — £15 per person - 60 Minutes

Our communal sessions are relaxed, friendly and open to individuals or small groups. They’re a great way to experience the sauna at an accessible price while sharing the space with others who enjoy the ritual of heat and cold therapy. Each session lasts one hour, with the option to combine sea dipping, sauna rounds and cold plunging as you wish.

Women’s Wednesdays - £20 per person - 90 Minutes

Take a midweek pause with our calming women-only sessions at Sauna Hetta. Enjoy the warmth of our wood-fired sauna, peaceful sea views, and the freedom to unwind in a supportive, restorative space. Perfect for relaxation, connection, or a gentle introduction to sauna. These sessions are 90 minutes to allow for more gathering time in the sauna and around the fire pit.

Private Sauna Sessions — £90 for up to 6 people - 60 Minutes

For those who prefer the sauna to themselves, we offer private one-hour sessions for groups of up to six. This is an ideal option for friends, couples, families or anyone looking for a more personal, uninterrupted experience. Enjoy the warmth, the cold plunges and the setting at your own pace.

Sauna Hetta has moved to a new home for the winter season. You will now find us just across the road from our beachside location, outside Calico Barn at The Barn on The Bay. This cosy and sheltered setting allows us to offer an enhanced experience during the colder months, with extended sessions and new features designed to help you relax, restore and embrace the benefits of heat and cold therapy.

Throughout winter, we’ll have the option of longer sessions, giving guests more time to unwind and enjoy the rhythm of sauna, rest and repeat.

New this season, we have introduced two ice baths for cold plunging, along with an outdoor cold shower for those who prefer a refreshing rinse between sauna rounds.

Sauna Hetta’s winter setup is designed to offer a deeper, slower and more restorative experience, and we look forward to welcoming you to our new location.

Festive Fire Sessions

Festive Fire sessions are priced at £45 per person. Standard group sessions accommodate up to six people, while private group bookings can welcome up to twelve, with a maximum of eight people in the sauna at any one time (please contact us to add more than 6 people).

Calico Barn is a group accommodation barn at Hemscott Hill Farm in a beautifully converted cartshed. During the winter months Hetta will be based outside Calico Barn and our Festive Fire Sessions will be based in and around Calico Barn.
